Marine Corps War Vet, Todd Johnston, fully endorses Jason Kulp:
Lieutenant Jon Wilhelm (Retired)
I wish to extend my support for Jason Kulp’s candidacy for State Committeemen for the Republican Party of Palm Beach County.
I am a retired law enforcement officer of the Upper Arlington (Ohio) Division of Police, having served for 31 years as a patrolman, detective, sergeant and lieutenant. During my career, I had the pleasure of serving with both Jason and his father, Tom, who was formerly our Chief of Police. Chief Tom Kulp was well respected by the officers under his command. A few years after Tom’s retirement in 1995, the Police Division hired Jason.
Upon his graduation from the police academy, Jason consistently demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm for his new assignment as a patrol officer. He was eager to learn all aspects of his responsibilities, took great pride in his work product and his appearance, and demonstrated that he was a quick learner. He was always a team player and could be relied upon to carry out any assigned task given to him without complaint. Jason performed his duties with a “Mission Oriented” mentality and always placed the “Mission” before his personal needs. Not surprisingly, Jason sought out additional responsibility by applying for the position of patrol sergeant. He was promoted and assigned to lead a shift of 10 officers.
Like his father, Jason was well respected by those under his command. He could be relied upon for sound advice and good decisions. In addition to his responsibilities as a sergeant, Jason took on several additional tasks to enhance the Division’s functionality. One of those being a complete overhaul of the officer annual performance evaluation form. He put in many months of work and eventually developed a new evaluation process that is still in use today. If not for his early retirement from the Division, I have little doubt that Jason’s law enforcement career would have taken him to an eventual command staff position.
I am happy to provide my endorsement for Jason Kulp as State Committeeman and have no doubt that he will excel in this new role!
